It's been at least a month. Maybe more? Two? It's getting harder to remember what day it is and how long you've been here. You try and recall the events, maybe that will help you figure out how long you've been here. Lets see... February 14th was when the first reports came over the radio, the Media called it a resurgence of "Bathsalts" in Toronto, kids getting high on cheap street drugs and eating the faces off people they drag to the ground. It was a few days later that Metro Vancouver started seeing the cases of "Bathsalt attacks". Four People were taken to Hospital on the first night of the attacks with human Bites, two of them were released home with minor Bite marks on their arms while the other two were detained for assault on several of the nurses. And then it got really bad. Four or five days later, the hospitals went into quarantine lock-down. The media started calling it an outbreak of some strange disease that is transmitted through bodily fluids entering the bloodstream. Police began to have problems keeping the public safe from people who had contracted the disease and began attacking in the streets. A further 3 days and people stopped coming out of their houses. Small gangs of "infected" roamed the streets with an unnerving shuffling step, attacking anyone who left the safety of their homes. It took over a week for the military to mobilize and begin moving people to evacuation zones. They took over the BC Ferries Terminals in Tsawassen and Horseshoe Bay and used them to facilitate moving uninfected people out of the mainland and to a major safe zone (that no one can seem to agree on where that safe zone is really located). So here you sit, Tsawassen ferry terminal, inside the military compound waiting for your turn to get onto the ships that come and take people away. First they let the families on, that is parents with children. But that was a week ago that you last saw a ship in port. Two weeks? Something isn't right and the people around you are starting to get antsy... And come to think of it, where are the soldiers?

It had been a long night for Kate Ashworth. New orders had come in from high up to pull out of the Tsawassen Evac zone with special orders to only move out selected civilians and all military personnel.
Bar the doors to he holding areas and leave everyone else to their own fate. They explained in the briefing that the riff-Raff of mainland society was all that remained in the holding rooms normally occupied by people waiting for a long ferry ride. So she worked through the night loading injured civilians (uninfected and fit for transport) into the helicopters and zodiacs waiting to depart.
The decision to stay behind wasn't so much a matter of thought. It came from a promise. Kate had promised her father that she would look after Gerald No matter what happened. And he hadn't been present to climb into the last of the evac vehicles.
And so there Kate stood, removing the debris used to bar the doors of one holding room shut. She pulled open the door to find a mostly empty room, Gerald Ashworth laying across several benches pushed together with ear buds in. Sitting near the remains of a smashed vending machine a man sat on the floor with his head down and hood pulled over his eyes, and two other "riff-Raff" were sitting in opposite corners of the room occupied with their own backpacks, the woman (Gerald at one point referred to as Andie) seeming to take inventory and the other (Gerald called him Corey) was eating from a bag of pretzel sticks (obviously stolen from the vending machine) dipping them into the biggest TUB of peanut butter that Kate had ever seen.
Kate swallowed hard and cleared her throat, explaining to the 4 others in the room that the military had pulled out and we are all on our own...

Andie begins to sob lightly and shake in a very pitiful way. "We're all doomed! I can't believe they would just leave us here!" *continue crying*
Action:
Andie uses her perception(?) to locate where Kate Ashworth has kept her gun and any ammo she may have on her.

Kate takes a cursory inventory of surroundings then addresses the group. "Well, we need to make the best of this, but it's best that we don't remain here. I suggest we gather what we can find in this terminal and then make it to Tsawassen, where we may be able to find better food and supplies."
She then turns and walks outside and scans the terminal of any vehicles or items may have been left behind. Hopefully, something useful. She also uses her binoculars to look around the terminal and the only road out of there.

Gerald is too busy looking for an outlet to charge his phone to notice the dreadful news. As he looks around the room frantically he realizes the somber mood of the occupants. "What's the big deal? I couldn't hear you. My phones dead, none of these outlets seem to work. I'm going to find something to charge my phone." With that Gerald followed Kate outside and scans the area. He looks for another building to enter whilst readjusting his backpack, the loud jangle of coins reassuring to him.

As Kate ventures outside, Corey reluctantly stands up with his peanut butter jar in hand and follows her. As he smacks his lips loudly and licks his fingers he scans the terminal for any military gear that might have been left behind.

Andi sees a 9mm pistol in a thigh holster on Kate. Appears to be unloaded but a magazine pouch on Kates belt indicates at least one clip of ammo if not 2
Kate takes in the group: Corey and Andi have what appear to be well organized packs, and Gerald is haphazardly stuffing his life into his school pack. The man with the hood has no pack and has made no motion to acknowledge anything was even said.
Peering out through the boarding ramp windows, Kate and Corey can both see 3 abandoned military tents, and a sea of cars abandoned on the lone road heading into the terminal. Sea side, They observe a terminal operatiins tug (small 1 person jeep used for towing food trollies and baggage carts to load the ferries with) with 2 large food carts attached out on one of the birthside piers.
kate's binoculars reveal the abandoned cars lined up almost all the way back to the Tawassen outlet mall, and 3 or 4 stumbling figures moving slowly through the messy rows of abandoned cars.

Realising that she is alone in the room with a strange man Andie uses perception to see what the guy is doing, if he is a threat and what items he may have on him.
If the guy is not a threat and has no items of value then Andie leaves the room with the rest of the survivors and climbs onto a car to survey the area.

Kate's eyes open with surprise as she spots the figures slowly approaching the terminal. 'They found us quicker than she had thought', she thinks to herself and tries to estimate how long it will take them to close the distance. With hope that more gear has been left behind, she moves with purpose towards the military tents. Two clips of ammo won't late her very long if it comes to a fight, hopefully it won't come to that. As soon as she reaches the tent she begins her search.

Gerald sees the shambling figures in the distance, his eyes widen as he realizes the gravity of the situation. "Wait for me!" he yells at Kate as she strides in the direction of the tents. He is determined to get the best gear for himself, after all he deserves it! He follows after Kate, beginning a search of the nearest tent.

As Corey accesses the situation unfolding in front of him he decides to divert attention away from Kate and Gerald by jumping onto one of the abandoned cars where he proceeds to hurl his half eaten peanut butter jar at one of the figures whilst shouting the lyrics to Firework by Katy Perry.

Current positions shown in the above aerial photo. Will be updated every few posts for movement purposes and every post when position is vital (like during combat) Andie Checks the stranger and finds he is dead. A quick search of his corpse reveals an empty bottle of muscle relaxants. The stranger has a set of warm clothes and not much else. Taking up a position just back and off to the side of Corey, Andie sees the 3 walking corpses approaching (very slowly). Kate moves through the medical tents first, and then into the Admin tents. She finds 2 first aid kits (rather enough scattered pieces to fashion 2 kits), 3 collapsible military cots, Assorted stationary, and 1 gas can roughly half full (about 5L). Gerald moves through some of the staff tents finding; 2 ration packs, a collapsible shovel, a Military helmet, and a bottle of hard liquor. Corey leaps onto the hood of a nearby car, shouting a peanut buttery "BOOM BOOM BOOM" at the zombie shambling nearby followed by a peanut buttery Tub to the side of it's head. The Zombie falls to the ground with a quiet moan.

Recalling her years spent on Vancouver's East End, Andie is unfazed by the shuffling husks and half expected one of them to call out to her "spare some change?"
Andie sees that the army chick and her twerp brother have run into a nearby tent. She decides to run to (what looks like) an area with military vehicles and more tents. She stops just outside of the tent and checks to see if there is anyone inside.

Pleased that some useful supplies were left for them, Kate gathers up the first aid supplies and picks up the gas can. She glances around and notices one of the loonies left behind is belting out some kind of song and seems to be dancing on some car. Shaking her head she then calls out to Gerald and hold out the gas can. "We need that Jeep over there." She then checks her pistol and makes sure it is loaded preparing for anything that is to come. Looking around for the figures that were approaching from the road, Kate tries to count them and see what they are doing.

Corey frantically retrieves his precious peanut butter jar and whipes off any blood that may have come from the undead's face. Thinking that his weapon of choice doesn't seem all too practical he runs into the nearest tent that Kate and Gerald haven't searched yet for any firearms or other military gear that could be of use.
