Gerald picks up the shovel, helmet and booze and promptly cracks the lid on the liquor. Taking a swig he surveys the peanut butter bandit take down one of the zombies. The shovel looks like a sturdy weapon, he tucks it into his backpack and dons the helmet. He tosses the gas can in the general direction of the Jeep and proceeds further from the shambling figures, waiting to see what happens next.

Andie peers into the two bluish Admin tents, she sees no signs of either tent being occupied but other than some filing cabinets full of requisition papers and some over turned tables she finds nothing of value.
Kate gazes out over the maze of abandoned cars filling the highway, she can see 2 shamblers amongst the cars. They are shuffling about and bumping into the crowded cars, but their direcrion in clear... Into the terminal.
Corey collects and cleans his assault peanut butter and notes that the zombie he hit was only knocked down, not taken out. He moves swiftly past the woman named Andie to the white medical tents, and ducks inside. There is little of value in the first tent, though a blanket is pulled over a lumpy human-like form on a medical stretcher.
Gerald swigs from the bottle of whiskey. The situation looks hopeless, but at least Kate is here to help him survive...
The zombies at the far end of the road shuffle closer...

Andie begins to have a sneaking suspicion that there is no more loot anywhere in the terminal and that a higher being is getting impatient (Steve). Pulling out her machete, Andie darts over to the downed zombie and taking special care to avoid the zombie's grasp she swings the machete down on the zombies head.

Corey decides not to go for the temptation of seeing a real life zombie underneath the blanket and instead decides to go back outside where he becomes witness to Andie slaughtering a zombie just like in the movies. It's at this point he realizes that perhaps there was no ship coming to get them. So he approaches Kate and Gerald and suggests that we try to leave the terminal all together and venture into a more urban area where we could perhaps find other people.

Gerald has gotten through half of the bottle of liquor, he decides he doesn't need anyone to help him and ventures further into the terminal to search for a high vantage point to watch the rest of the band of survivors. He assembles the folding shovel and sets off to search for higher ground.

Seeing that the fight is imminent, Kate moves over to a large vehicle close to where the zombies are approaching and climbs up onto it. She takes aim at the head of one of the zombies (a zombie that is close but not so close to the other survivors) and fires off a shot.

Side-stepping the grasping hands of the prone corpse, Andie swings her machete down into the head of the zombie. The heavy blade splits the zombies head with ease and the corpse sags and twitches as it's brain finally dies. Congealed blood drips thickly from the split skull of the zombie, as Corey witnesses the death stroke from a short distance away. He moves to stand near kate. Kate climbs onto one of the cars near the front of the line of abandoned cars. She waits for a calculating moment and fires at the second zombie closing in, catching it in the cheek and spraying a nearby car with bone and brains. Gerald takes a long pull from his bottle of whiskey and starts to walk towards the 3 story Staff building a little into the terminal. At the sound of the gunshot, the remaining zombies head snaps toward kate and letting out a rattling moan begins to lurch forward at a much more rapid pace than before. (last post for this week. A flash of blind rage ran through Andie's mind after hearing the gunshot. She gave Kate a sideways glance.
"One..." She said under her breath.
Andie begins to walk down the rows of cars away from the terminal towards the last zombie. She stops about 20 feet from the oncoming zombie and climbs onto the nearest car. She checks her surroundings to ensure nothing is sneaking up on her. She waits patiently until the zombie comes close enough and she again composidly swings her machete at the zombie's head.

Gerald makes his way into the 3 story building. He carefully surveys his surroundings, looking for anything of use and anything decidedly not alive but still moving. He decided to head to the top floor of the building to get a better view of the distant city.

Seeing as Andie and Kate have the current zombie problem under control, Corey decides to look for a vehicle which may have been deserted with the keys still in the ignition. Preferring an off road type of vehicle.

Kate takes careful aim at the last zombie and watches as the Machete wielder moves up to the last zombie. She holds her fire but waits to see what happens.

 Andie takes her position atop her selected car. A quick sweep of the area tells her that nothing is waiting to surprise her as the remaining zombie shambles closer. Gerald finds nothing significant of use in the squat building and finds a fire escape ladder on the side of the building to scale for easy access to the roof. Corey begins a random search through the nearby cars, looking for keys. Many of the cars have keys in them, but having been abandoned while running, nearly all of them are fuel-less and none of them have any battery power left to turn over with. Kate takes careful aim at the last zombie as it closes in on Andie. Andie swings her weapon, slightly off balance from the added height of the car, and buries her machete into the ribs of the zombie chopping clean through it's arm. The zombie makes a lunge at Andie as she wrenches her weapon out from the zombies ribs, but stumbles as it bumps into the edge of the car and falls to the ground. |

Gerald swiftly climbs the fire escape ladder to the roof, hoping to get a better view of the chaos the group will have to face. As he reaches the top he scans the roof for any danger or anything left behind. Once satisfied with his scan he takes a long pull from his whiskey bottle and uses the hood string from his raincoat to fashion a harness for his new trench shovel.

Feeling embarrassed, Andie looks around to see if anyone saw her dismal execution of what she thought would be a pretty easy maneuver. She hops down the opposite side of the car, putting the vehicle between herself and the zombie. She collects her wits and circles around the car to the downed zombie. She again takes the machete and hacks at it's head.

Kate turns around scanning the area for any other threats then climbs down off the vehicle she was on and moves closer to where Andie and the zombie are facing off. She holsters her gun and climbs up on top of another vehicle a short distance from the zombie. Pulling out her combat knife she watches the action ready to spring into action if needed.
