The noon-day sun glared down on "camp cabane" as several girls in tattered girl scout uniforms went about chores in the small fenced area they had made secure.
Several of the adults that had stayed with the group (the week previous had been full of people fleeing the area in panic and chaos) were still asleep, having stayed up on look out the night before. Two of the girls were moving large plastic containers filled with rain water from earlier in the week into a storage room while another girl packed up the rations of lunch they had all just shared.
Food stocks were solid for another few days, but not for another full week. And they needed to have a more reliable water supply (and fast) before the rain started to dry up as summer slowly apporached.

As the noon day sun shines down on the compound, Jill emerges from the makeshift radio room. Sounds like someone had heard the call and was on their way to lend aid. Dr. Speck and Stan emerge from their sleeping quarters to greet the day, encountering Jill as she comes out of the radio room. One of the girls approaches the three adults and reports that water and food supplies are running low, and sections of the fence are old and may not repel walkers for long.

"Hey Stan, let's take a look at the fence and see what we can do about them." Motioning to Jill to come along.

Jill follows DR Speck towards the fence. On her way she starts a mental checklist of the current food and water situation. "Let's hope the new comers bring some supplies with them" she mutters to no one in paticular

Dr. Speck's eyes are constantly darting away from the fence, and scanning the buildings. "Keep your eyes open for fire hydrants, sprinkler systems and storm drains, there has to be some type of back up water supply at an airport."

Jill runs through the ration supply list in her head, with the number of people currently in the compound, she estimates that they have 2 weeks worth of dry and canned food, 3 days worth of stored water (not including any captured precipitation)
Julius scans the compound; the building has an old sprinkler system long disconnected from the water mains, a drainage ditch sits just outside the perimeter fence to the east, and to the south west a row of empty plane hangars may contain some form of sprinkler or hydrant.
Stan follows along with a few simple words.

Jill takes note of any weak points in the fence and makes plans to return with a work party later in the day to reinforce and repair any sections needing it. She also scans the perimeter for zombies to see if they seem to be collecting in any one spot.

Stan scans the area as the three adults walk the perimeter fence. He can see several airplane hangars in the distance across the airfield, and assumes there must be vessals to store water in somewhere among the hangars.
As they walk, Jill and Dr. Speck make note of the fence. Its a servicable old chainlink fence with barbwire along the top. Several panels have come apart and are held together with zip-ties. Something more permanent would be a good idea, and possibly some reinforcement would help.
In the distance a dozen zombies shamble around, no real groups are visible and none of them seem to have any direction.

"What do you think Stan, Dr Speck, why don't we go and have a look in those airplane hangars, maybe we can find some barrels for water and some tools to fix the fence a bit more permenently?" Jill starts to walk towards the airplane hangars in hopes that their might be something useful inside. Some heavy duty wire and pliers would be ideal to replace the zip ties on the fence, she thinks to herself.

"Great idea Jill, I'll come with you. Stan, lets stick together and keep our eyes peeled for ZomBies." Hoping the group will swing in the opposite direction on the way back to check out the drainage ditch. I'll bring it up after we search out the hangers.

Sorry for the delay guys, I will try amd have a rough sketch of the compound done for you by the weekend. From there i will let you guys have some creative input on how your base is layed out inside the fence line.
I will post in the morning once i have touched base with Stan

Sounds like a plan. I have my compass with me, no danger of getting lost. Maybe bring some thin rope to string together any jugs in case we find a but load.
